Keyboard Maestro is a broad Mac automation tool. Orson is deliberately narrower: a work schedule, selected apps, and native routines that only use approved actions.
Orson's advanced script-template approval, time review, signed download, and checkout are not available yet.
When Keyboard Maestro fits
Keyboard Maestro lets you build macros with triggers and actions. Its feature guide covers opening apps and URLs, scheduling actions, and running scripts.
That range is useful when you want to design and maintain your own automation across the Mac. Orson is not a replacement for a general macro engine.
When Orson fits
Orson already opens selected work apps on your schedule and offers a small set of native startup/close actions. A natural-language request can be translated into an allowlisted action for your review; Orson does not execute raw AI-generated shell commands.
Advanced scripts are planned, but each immutable template revision will need explicit approval and dependency checks. A private contractor timeline and reports are also planned as separate, opt-in work.
Which one fits?
Choose Keyboard Maestro if you need flexible, general-purpose Mac macros now.
Follow Orson if a small approved set of workday routines, app setup, and later time review better fits your workflow.
